Vegetables are the Star of the Show at Inventive ALTHEA

If you’re vegan, you know Matthey Kenney. He is one of the premier chefs of plant-based cuisine on a fine dining level. His new offering is ALTHEA, tucked away on the 7thfloor of Saks Fifth Avenue on Michigan Avenue.

You can expect a chic, spacious dining room and a menu of vegan cuisine that’s as inventive as it is delicious. Chef Kenney focuses his menu on both vegetables as the star of a dish, and interesting starch and protein substitutes to round out the menu. Even is you aren’t vegetarian or vegan, it’s easy to appreciate the flavorful and decadent dishes at ALTHEA. You hardly miss the meat when you dine on dishes like kimchi dumplings, zucchini lasagna, kung pao cauliflower, and apple crisp with ice cream.

Reservations are not required, but ALTHEA is becoming more popular with every passing week. If you plan to dine on a Friday or Saturday night, be sure to call ahead. ALTHEA opens daily at 11 a.m.
