The Highly Anticipated Bennett Park Is Now Open in Streeterville
August 23, 2019If you’ve ever been to Maggie Daley Park or tread The 606 trail, then you already know the work of Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates. The architecture firm designed both of these beautiful local greenspaces. Its architects are also behind the recently opened Bennett Park, a two-acre oasis in Streeterville located right next to the newly unveiled One Bennett Park building.
The public park features a handful of outdoor “rooms,” each with its own distinct vibe. The centerpiece of the park is a “lawn bowl,” a slightly sunken stretch of grass right in the heart of Bennett Park. It’s surrounded by a pair of 24-hour dog runs (one for small canines and one for larger pooches), a whimsical playground, and a shady grove of trees with ample seating for some rest and relaxation. Be sure to stop by the new park before the summer’s end!
