Don Your Mask and Take a Stroll Along the Chicago Riverwalk

July 20, 2020

After sitting dormant for months, you might’ve noticed that the Chicago Riverwalk has slowly started buzzing back to life. Although not all of its recreation and food vendors are open yet, the paved path itself is welcoming runners, walkers, and bikers yet again—as long as you wear a mask and maintain a safe distance.

Whether you’re still working from home or back in the office, head down to the Riverwalk on your lunch break.

Watch as kayakers float by or find a bench and soak up the Chicago summer—and the skyline. If you have some more time, hop on your bike and go for a ride down the path. It stretches 1.25 miles from Lake Street right down to the water and the Lakeshore Drive path, slicing through four separate zones along the way. You’ll come upon The Confluence, The Arcade, The Civic, and The Esplanade, each featuring different breathtaking pieces of Chicago’s famed architecture.
