Papparoti makes the act of creating its signature bun into an art form. First, the chef lets the dough ferment and rise for five hours. Then, they add a central pat of butter and pillowy top layers one by one, making sure not to let any air in between. Finally, they bake the bun to golden-brown and crispy, but never dry. The result is a subtly sweet pastry that has Chicago foodies abuzz.
Come to the newly opened shop for takeout or order delivery to try one of the signature buns! Add a sweet topping like dark chocolate, salted caramel, or strawberry sauce. The bakery also slings fully embellished buns, like the Mona Lisa. It’s loaded with banana, strawberries, whipped cream, and vanilla ice cream. That’s not to mention savory bites, like Mediterranean salads and sandwiches, and specialty teas and coffee drinks.
