Enjoy a Sunny Spring Day at Milton Lee Olive Park

May 26, 2021

Spring is here and the days are getting longer and warmer, that deserves a little celebration, don’t you think? Head to Milton Lee Olive Park for some little outdoor fun after work or over the weekend.

The park is named after Milton Lee Olive, III who was the African American recipient of the Medal of Honor in the Vietnam War. There’s a beautiful memorial statue called Hymn to the Water featuring Private Olive, which is worthy of a visit. Beyond the sentiment, the park boasts incredible views of the Chicago skyline and has lots of benches so you can take a seat and soak up the views and people watch. If you really want to have some fun, find a bike rental spot—there are a few around the Navy Pier area, so grab a bike for a few hours and ride around the park! It’s the perfect way to boost your mood and have a little fun outdoors this season.
